I'm still in the throws of World Cup Fever but I will briefly take a sojourn back into the realworld if just to enter an article that I learned about from Slate magazine into this blog - which I sometimes use as a outboard brain.

Michael Crawley of the New Republic in this brief web piece has completely altered my perspective about the Anthrax-laced mail attacks that occurred shortly after last Septemeber:

But there's one enormous, insurmountable flaw that sinks all the Al Qaeda-Iraq theories: The anthrax letters were not designed to kill; they were designed to terrify.
