I'm in a funk of sorts - feeling both restless and listless. It's like, the body is tired enough for TV but the mind won't let it.

Add the fact that a cold wet June means I can stay indoors without guilt and I should - for all intents and purposes - be on the sofa reading. I'm always reading something.

Except I'm in one of those moods in which nothing pleases me. I want something engaging but I'm not up to investing much effort in the matter. Luckily, I've been in this situation before and I think I have the remedy - (relax, its not picking up Shopaholic Ties the Knot) pick up a couple really really great kids books.

Right now I'm reading Figgs and Phantoms by one of my favourite authors of my childhood, Ellen Raskin. Reading children's books when you are an adult means that you can develop a completely different appreciation for the works - such as the creation and printing of a manuscript.
